In March 2017 CTV\u2019s W5 aired the investigative report \u201cIn the Name of Science<\/a>\u201d which showed disturbing images of animals, taken by an undercover Investigator, at ITR laboratories, located in Baie D\u2019Urf\u00e9, Quebec. The report showed the many forms of suffering that these animals are forced to endure. It also highlighted the lack of legislative protection for animals in laboratories, particularly in privately owned facilities. Following the airing of the episode, and more recently, the Montreal SPCA received many questions and pleas from the public about the ITR case, and the situation for laboratory animals in Quebec generally.<\/p>\n

The Montreal SPCA continues to work to ensure the legal protection of all animals, including animals in laboratory and research facilities. There are ways that you can help end the suffering of animals in laboratory and research facilities, like ITR.<\/p>\n

How you can help?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Sign and share this petition<\/a> to end cosmetic testing on animals throughout Canada;<\/li>\n
  2. Contact the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC)<\/a> to ask them to withdraw the accreditation they granted to ITR laboratories;<\/li>\n
  3. Choose cosmetics and house-hold products<\/a> that have not been tested on animals.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
