Did you know that every year, the Montreal SPCA receives abandoned animals of all species, including dogs, cats, rabbits, rats, guinea pigs, reptiles, birds \u2013 and even sheep?<\/p>\n

Indeed, the inspectors from the Investigations and Inspections\u00a0Department are confronted with cases of cruelty and neglect on a daily basis; they cross path with various animals in need, mainly small animals, but also large ones, such as Mr Henri and Ms Clothilde! The two sheep were rescued by our team of inspectors, as the pair was living in inadequate conditions that put their well-being and safety at risk.<\/p>\n

During the rescue, Henri was very protective of his friend Clothilde; he stood before her and charged to intimidate the inspectors. After a few minutes, once confidence was established, the inspectors were able to carefully remove the animals, and transport them to safety.<\/p>\n

The two charming friends were brought to the shelter, where they received prompt care by the veterinary team. Henri and Clothilde are estimated to be 14 years old! During their stay at the SPCA, they were comfortably set up in hay, and received a feast of mash, apples, carrots and celery \u2013 cut into small pieces, as they are both toothless.<\/p>\n

Mr Henri and Ms Clothilde have recently left the shelter to go to a sanctuary adapted to their unique needs, where they now enjoy a well-deserved retirement.<\/p>\n
