The SPCA\u2019s Investigations Division will now be working closely with Cheval Qu\u00e9bec<\/strong>, the umbrella organization for equestrian events and competitions held in the province. This collaboration aims to centralize complaints and reports with a view to ensuring rigorous follow-up and increasing the effectiveness of protective measures<\/strong> during these activities.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Canada\u2019s first animal welfare organization, the Montreal SPCA<\/b> was founded in 1869 and worked in its early years primarily to improve the living conditions of horses, who were then very present in Montr\u00e9al and many industries<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

This is all the more reason that the Montreal SPCA is delighted for Cheval Qu\u00e9bec to mandate the SPCA\u2019s animal protection officers<\/b> to handle complaints and reports of cruelty to horses during their events.<\/p>

The Quebec Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) will continue to receive complaints of neglect. However, if people have any concerns about potential animal cruelty, they can contact the Montreal SPCA directly and its Investigations Division will evaluate each case carefully to ensure appropriate action is taken to protect the horses. Reported acts will be examined according to nature, severity and the circumstances in which they were committed.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
