Hit the pavement – stop injustice and animal cruelty

carouselenMontreal, May 4th 2017 –The Montreal SPCA is pleased to announce the 7th edition of the largest dog walk in Montreal for the benefit of our organisation, which will be held at the Mount-Royal Park on Sunday, June 11th 2017. Participants at the annual Snout & About event will spend a festive day with fellow dog-lovers, all while helping to support our efforts to stop animal cruelty and injustice.

The walk will give members of the public the opportunity to enjoy a family activity with their loyal canine companion and at the same time raise funds to help the Montreal SPCA. The funds raised will help the Montreal SPCA, which has existed for nearly 150 years, to continue its mission: protecting and representing the interests of animals. The goal this year is to raise $50 000 in the form of donations and sponsorships.

“The Montreal SPCA and the community share a common passion for animals and now, more than ever, we are counting on the public’s support in our daily battle against animal cruelty and injustice,” said Anita marche-museau1Kapuscinska, Communications Manager at the Montreal SPCA. “It is thanks to the public’s support that we are able to investigate thousands of cruelty cases, defend the interests of all animals, and sterilize and to rehome thousands of animals every year. We invite fellow animal-lovers to register and participate at the walk to help the Montreal SPCA pursue its mission, but also to enjoy a fun-filled day for the entire family”.

Participants can now register for the Walk on the website, www.snoutandabout.ca, individually or in teams. There are three options: set a fundraising goal, which can be shared with everyone, sponsor a person (or team), or donate directly. Participants can also share their personal reason for participating and supporting the walk.

With or without a dog, everyone is invited to participate at the Snout & About event:

  • When: Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 10 am to 3 pm (rain or shine)
