Statistics for 2025

(January 1 to December 31, 2025)

We were busy in 2025! We took in more than 15,000 animals for the year, and we’ll continue working to find forever homes for all our protégés in the months to come. All of this is possible, thanks to you : it is your precious support that allows us to carry out our mission!

Average length of stay:

Cats: 7.6 days 
Dogs: 9.7 days 
Rabbits: 22.4 days

Adoption: 6.7 % increase

In 2025 alone, 5, 275 animals found new homes through the Montreal SPCA.

The Investigations Division in numbers

— Number of calls handled: 13, 699

— Number of animals removed from their environment: 77

— New operational files: 1, 795

 

 

Veterinary cares: 

27 129 veterinary examinations (109 per day)
6 665 sterilizations (27 per day)
330 dental procedures (1 to 2 per day)
124 complex surgeries (1 every 2 days) 

Programs  

2,127 animals were sterilized at our Mittens-Montreal SPCA Targeted Permanent Sterilization Clinic.  

885 cats were sterilized through our Trap-Neuter-Release-Maintain (TNRM) Program. 

104 presentations and educational activities were held as part of our Humane Education Program, reaching 2,189 youth.
