IMPORTANT: Changes to animal services in the City of Montréal
The City of Montréal now offers a centralized phone line for animal services, available across all boroughs, at 514-379-2525, to direct residents to the right resource based on their location and situation.
A new animal services centre, located at the intersection of Pie-IX Boulevard and Industriel Boulevard, now receives animals from the central and eastern areas of the City.
In order to maintain local, community-based services, the Montreal SPCA continues to receive animals from the western sector of the City. It also welcomes animals from other municipalities across the greater metropolitan region.
The Montreal SPCA takes in animals from the following boroughs and municipalities
- Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce
- Hampstead
- Lachine
- LaSalle
- Le Sud-Ouest
- L’Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève
- Montréal-Ouest
- Pierrefonds-Roxboro
- Saint-Laurent
- Verdun
Notice – As of January 1, 2026, the Montreal SPCA no longer offers the Trap-Neuter-Return-Maintain (TNRM) program in the boroughs of the City of Montréal but continues to provide this service in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue and Town of Mount Royal.
