Upcoming federal elections: Be the voice of animals
Make animal protection a key electoral issue in Canada!
The upcoming federal elections provide a unique opportunity to secure commitments, raise awareness and create new political allies to support the cause of animals.
The MPs who will be elected this time around will have the power to change the laws and regulations that protect animals and thus have a lasting impact on the way in which the treatment of animals is regulated. However, it is vital that we remind them that these issues matter a great deal to their constituents.
Take an active part in making the voice of animals heard in Ottawa by writing to your MP today.
On April 23rd, 2025, the Montreal SPCA organized, in partnership with other animal advocacy organisations from across the country, a debate on the issue of animal protection in Canada ahead of the upcoming federal election.
The participants were Nathaniel Erskine-Smith (Liberal Party of Canada), Alistair MacGregor (New Democratic Party), Elizabeth May (Green Party) and Yves Perron (Bloc Québécois). All parties with a seat in Parliament were invited to participate.
