Canine Re-education Program For Foster Families

A new program for specialized foster families

Some of our dogs’ behavioural challenges make it more difficult to find them new families. To give them the best chance of learning new skills, these dogs need a stable, calm and supportive environment. Unfortunately, a shelter with hundreds of animals isn’t the ideal setting. The solution? Foster homes! But families don’t necessarily have the knowledge and skills to train dogs with a difficult past.

That’s why we’re pleased to invite you to take part in our brand-new program that will train foster families to train dogs with behavioural challenges. The program consists of four online sessions, each covering a specific theme: 1. reactivity and walking on leash; 2. anxiety; 3. resource guarding; 4. introducing other dogs.

Focussing on reactivity and walking on leash, the first session will take place on December 2, at 10 a.m. in French and on December 9, at 10 a.m. in English. Register now!

This project is supported by a grant from PEDIGREE Foundation.

If you haven’t already done so, make sure you’ve filled out the new foster family application form before attending the training.
