New Companion Animal Welfare Regulations: Have Your Say!

The Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation du Québec (MAPAQ) has recently released draft animal welfare regulations and is conducting public consultations until June 25, 2022. They include several major advances for animals, most of which stem from recommendations the Montreal SPCA has made over many years.

However, the Montreal SPCA considers that the regulations are insufficient in certain respects, particularly with regards to chained dogs and certain animals used in research. Further modifications and additions are necessary. To facilitate citizen participation, we’re providing a platform so you can take part in the public consultation in just a few clicks (see below).
