Become a Foster Parent to Orphaned Kittens

Every spring, the Montreal SPCA takes in many unweaned orphaned kittens requiring specialized ongoing care from a foster caregiver.

To prepare for this period, the SPCA is recruiting individuals that are willing and able to accommodate between one and four kittens at their home for a minimum of four weeks.

When you foster kittens, all the necessary supplies (food, baby bottles, etc.) to care for neonatal kittens will be provided, including support and advising from our team.

If other animals live in your home, they must be sterilized and up-to-date with their vaccines. Kittens must be quarantined for at least 14 days before introducing them to the family.

Newborns require intensive care and must be bottle-fed every three to four hours during the first weeks.

We invite people who are interested in the program to register for one of the mandatory training sessions offered by the Montreal SPCA.
