The health of our staff, volunteers, fellow citizens and, of course, the animals in our care is an ongoing concern for us at the Montreal SPCA. Therefore, we wish to keep the number of visitors to a minimum. This is why we have set up an appointment-scheduling protocol for our animal adoption service. To adopt an animal, please follow these steps.

You found a little kitten who seems abandoned? Consult our article Orphaned Kittens: What to do?
It is important to fill out the form at the bottom of our Lost and found section immediately, so that we can promptly open a file and publish the animal’s information on our website.
If you suspect that your animal has been stolen, also contact your local police station
The Montreal SPCA offers a microchip implanting and registration service* for cats and dogs at a cost of $45.

The Mittens-Montreal SPCA Targeted Permanent Sterilization Clinic, supervised by head veterinarian Dr. Gabrielle Carrière offers discounted sterilization services to animal guardians with limited financial resources. For details, please consult this page.*
For all other type of consultations, please find a veterinarian near you through the OMVQ’s website.

If you love animals but are unable to make a long-term commitment to an animal, fostering may be for you. By offering a foster home, you can take care of a cat, dog, rabbit, bird or other small animal for a month or more.
